Strangers In Paradise was a weird read for me. First off I generally read superhero comics. This is not a super hero comic but does have some great characters. You feel for the characters and for me can identify with at least one of them. The writing is excellent. If you are looking for stunning artwork you probably need to look else where. All the art work is black and white. I was suprised to find myself unable to put this book down. I really enjoyed the characters even though at times it seemed like they were going in circles. If you want check out a well written non super hero comic this would be a good place to start.

Strangers in Paradise I will readily admit that I would not have picked up on my own. However JasonJames handed me a copy and told me we had an interview with the author that next week. So like any other indentured servant (Just kidding JJ!) I hunkered down and tried to get enough done so I would not be clueless in the interview. What I was not expecting was to finish it all in one sitting. I mean wow. It really is just some normal kids/adults dealing with the issues we all would. Ok, at the end it isn’t something we’d all experience, but you get my point. It is pleasant read. I think this is the first comic I’ve read that someone didn’t have martial arts skills, a giant sword or superpowers. In that regard this book bears your attention. If you feel like trying something a little different than the norm, pick up a copy and give it a try.
