The first thing I have to say on this film is that I didn’t like it as much as the first one. This does have moments that are very funny and even moments that you see coming (no pun intended) but still laugh your ass off. The real funny thing is that the writers actually wrote in character development. What seems odd about this is most of the film is designed to not to be taken too serious. It also didn’t occur for each character; Oz’s character does not develop at all but is just kind of along for the ride. Kevin and Jim both have major character developments during the film but it occurs almost too late. Here is kind of how it feels for me, the writers came up with some really great comedy scenes but felt the need to fill the rest of the time with serious stuff. What I am trying to say is I was expecting the light hearted comedy that the first one was but this film had more of a sadder, mature, things change feel that I have grown tired of. Don’t get me wrong this film is worth seeing just for the shock value of a couple of the scenes. Though I did like it, I don’t plan to buy it for my collection.

I don’t know about some of you but I just couldn’t get enough of Stifler after the first movie. Not only that; but the relationship between Shitbreak and Stiflers mom was just way too funny. You have to wait for it this time but it’s worth it. This movie did have more of a serious feel than the first one; more like a romantic comedy, but from the beginning scene it was still funnier than most. I bought this one for my collection as soon as it came out and I’m happy I did. I’ve watched it at least three times and I always get a laugh. American Pie 2 is not as good as the first one but as sequels go they did an excellent job keeping mostly in the spirit of a sexually frustrating, growing pain, comedy.
