Apollo 18

Synopsis: Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 7, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But two years later, in December of 1974, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.

This is a found footage film that claims to have footage of Apollo 18 a top secret mission that no one knew about. I really can't say much more other than they are going to the moon to station some monitoring devices and some cameras. With found footage films the gimmick either works or it doesn't. With this film it really does not work. The gimmick with found footage is that the shots are from stationary cameras only catch parts of what is going on and does not move with the action. In this movies case not much of anything happens on or off the camera. As you are watching this movie you keep thinking to yourself that something big is going to happen, you keep waiting, and then the movie just ends. The actors were well chosen for there parts but with the filming style you don't really get to see much of there acting. Overall the film failed to deliver much suspense, excitement, or anything at all. The lucky side is that it is not all that long so if you insist on watching it you don't waste all that much time. If you want one positive note then they did do a great job being convincing that they are on the moon. As far as being a good film they failed.
