Of Note: The frozen lake in Iceland that is the location for some car chases, does not freeze very often naturally. This is due to its closeness to the sea and its high salt content. When the filmmakers had troubles getting the Icelandic lake to freeze properly, they considered filming the car chase scenes on ice in New Zealand. To rectify this situation the river that links the lake to the sea was dammed and within two days the entire lake was frozen to a depth of over 2 meters. Once they solved that problem, filming could take place in Iceland as planned.

This is not my favorite Pierce Brosnan, James Bond. It is good but is not better than some of the other ones. When the movie first started and we get the opening sequence, I was rather disapointed. It was not very good and kind of dragged on. Halle Berry was not a very good Bond girl, don't get me wrong she is hot but did not do well in this roll. She should stick to crying at the Oscars, that at least seemed real. I do like the fact that they have something representing every other Bond film hidden in this movie. That was done for the 40th anniversary. Check out our Trivia section for a run down on that. Overall this was a good film and as always Pierce Brosnan is the ideal person for the role. I didn't really like the villian or the weapon of mass destruction. I do like how they introduced the new Q. This being the first time we don't see Desmond Llewelyn as Q, Rest In Peace Desmond. Overall the action is ok but the film lags at times. I like the scene at the end with Moneypenny. It was a nice touch - no pun intended. Go ahead and check this movie out, just don't expect it to be better than it is - just average.

It's a Bond flick. That means cool gadgets, beautiful women, over-the-top super criminals and plots for world domination. Hey, it's got all that and it's got a little something new that I like. I don't want to spoil the movie too much for you but Bond being held as a prisoner and the lack of trust he is shown afterwards makes for interesting plot work. Ok, ok, I can see what Jason is saying about Halle Berry. She seems to lack the confidence and individuality that other Bond girls have exhibited in the past. But I think she looks most excellent in the swimming suit so I can't say anything bad about her. This movie is worth owning if you're a Bond fan, and who's not, but otherwise definitely worth the rent.
