I first have to say that as a kid I remember sitting in my room playing doom with the door closed because I suspected my mom would not like the gore. Oh, how video gaming has changed. The action sequences are good and this is a good representation of the game. The first person sequence was very innovative. It also gave the movie a little something different from other movies of similar plot. At the start of the 1st person sequence, you see the character look in the mirror, wow that was an awesome shot. There was a wrestling style combat sequence that I thought The Rock should have dropped the peoples elbow to make things interesting. If you are looking for a movie with character development then look somewhere else. If you like a movie with lots of blood, gore, and BFG's then this is the movie to watch. My major dislike to the movie is that it starts slow, and kind of drags on. The climax of the movie is not real special and is over very quickly.

I am not quite sure what to think about this movie. I can say that it is definitely worth watching ( at your friends house….on his/her dollar) and the action sequences were pretty good, however, I don’t remember seeing a truly good movie with a professional wrestler in it. I know what you are going to say….” Acting is acting”, but when you get more of a plot than “I’m gonna kill this guy because he dissed me in the ring” they all seem to struggle. The Rock is getting better but if you ask me (which I know you didn’t) what character he was playing in any of his movies I would say he is playing a professional wrestler. My biggest gripe about this movie is that they brought it out at the wrong time. They should have waited a few years for this. I know the Doom game was first but Resident Evil was an excellent movie (with girls kicking ass I might add) and the movies are too much alike. You can argue the differences as much as you like but they are too close to the same for me. The biggest difference is that Resident evil is better.
