I was very entertained by this movie. I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard and went into this very skeptical. I was worried that Jessica Simpson would not live up to the class that Catherine Back displayed in playing Daisy. I also was a little worried that two goof balls like Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott would portray Luke and Bo Duke poorly. On top of that who could ever replace Denver Pyle as Jesse Duke. Well my worrying was unfound as most of the characters got it right. I am not a real big Simpson fan but she did an excellent job as daisy. I felt Konxville and Scott both took the rolls serious and strived to do a good job. Willie Nelson as Jesse was a huge hit. I personally liked Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg. I think he took to the roll of the bad guy very well. I would agree with Shooter that M.C. Gainey as Rosco was not convincing. The car chases were filmed very well and in a similar style to what the TV show was. I will admit when the movie started and I saw them using doors to get into the car, I said out loud in the theatre "what the hell." Later when all of that is explained it made everything all right. I would encourage you to give this movie a chance as it was well made and very entertaining.

Very interesting. I was a big Dukes fan back in the day and I have watched a few of the season DVD's recently so I was prepared for another sucky remake. Much to my surprise my fears where somewhat unfounded. My first fear was that Jessica Simpson would make a terrible Daisy Duke but in actuality she did quite a good job. Considering the level of acting needed to play Daisy wasn't nearly as significant as the level of the hemline on a pair of "Daisy Dukes" Jessica could actually handle it.
Sean Scott and Johnny Knoxville really did a pretty decent job playing the Dukes and the only problem I had with their portrayal was when they went to Atlanta. So I don't ruin the movie for you and to make a long story short they basically ended up on a college campus and proceeded with scenes that belonged in "Road Trip", "Euro Trip", or even "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle".
The car chases in the movie were well done and both Burt Renolds and Willie Nelson made the movie better just for showing up. I didn't really like Burt as Boss Hogg. Burt played the role in a much more evil way and wasn't nearly as much a numbskull as the character in the TV series.
My biggest disappointment had to be the guy playing Roscoe. He wasn't true to the original character at all and lets face it Roscoe could have had his own show. Roscoe really made the TV series funny as hell. The Movie did have its share of comedy relief though and it had me laughing fairly steadily throughout the production.
