This is a classic movie from the 80's that had an all star cast. Sean Penn plays a stoner surfer and Jennifer Jason Leigh plays a coming into her own high school girl. The story is a lot like other movies in the 80's, a group of high school age kids are trying to score. It has the required topless scenes that many movies from the 80's had. The story itself at times was a little slow, the acting was pretty good considering how many of them went on to become stars. The story is for the most part exactly as you would expect it. I do have to say that the soundtrack was great, though I do like 80's music so it was right up my alley. This movie is listed on almost every list of movies that lists cult classics or any list that mentions pool scenes. Overall I enjoyed the movie but at times it just lacked punch.
