I do really like this movie even though it has so many flaws. The movie does start out pretty slow as it sets up the main characters. The movie starts with James Reece played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers working in Paris for an ambassador. He longs to be more than that and spends his free time trying to get promoted. Finally his big break comes and he gets teamed up with Charlie Wax played by John Travolta. Here is what you could consider a flaw but what makes the movie fun. There is no way John Travolta the actor should/could pull off any of the moves he pulls off as the super agent. That just might be what I like about this movie. Everything that should be is not. Once the two are teamed up they have quite the adventure. I may not like the name Charlie Wax but I do like the character. He is an agent that is over the top and that really makes a lot of this movie be over the top. From shoot outs in a Chinese restuarant to blowing up things with a bazooka, Charlie Wax is the agent that gets things done. Overall I liked the movie for what it was. It was an action film that did not take itself to serious but did not take it to far were it was a complete parody of itself. If you still are not sure what I am getting at then I would have to say that it is an action film cut from the same cloth as Rush Hour.
