Of Note: This movie is sequel of sorts to the original novel by Tsutsui Yasutaka, and the 1983 live-action movie - the main character's aunt is Yoshiyama Kazuko, the protagonist of the novel. The scenes featuring her in this movie are liberally sprinkled with references to the original novel and movie, including her description of a Sunday that was suddenly over before she knew it, and her former boyfriend who promised to return some day, to give a few examples.

This is an anime film so if that is not your thing them you can stop reading right here. If it is your thing or you are at least interested, this movie is about a girl who is about to be hit by a train and somehow leaps back in time just before the event happens and avoids it happening. Over time she develops here ability to leap and starts to use it for her benefit. For the most part I do like animated films but this one just did not keep me interested. It is very slow paced for one. Another reason I don't like it is because of the time travel. There are few time travel movies I like and of those I don't think I like any of the ones that show the same scene over and over again. This movie does do that. From an animation standpoint I have seen better and I have seen worse so that is kind of a wash. The soundtrack that goes with it is typical music you find in animation of this style so no real suprises there. Overall I just didn't like the slow pace nor did I like the theme with the time travel. I actually left me feeling sad and that is not how I like to walk away from a movie.
