To start this off I have to say that maybe this movie has the slowest start I have ever seen. On top of it having a slow start it is only 86 minutes long to begin with. That means really by the time the movie gets going it is over. Brandon Fraser has always been hit or miss as an actor. Mummy movies he was great, most everything else he is average or less. In this movie I would have to say he is average and almost any other male actor could have done as good of a job as he does. The real star of the show is Anita Briem who plays the female lead. Granted she still is not great but better than Fraser. The story itself is suppose to be based on Jules Vern work but for the most part it kind of does what it wants to with the story. My guess is they were more focused on how to make cool 3d scenes then actually making a cool story. Or at least a story that is more than a 3d gimick. It just never seems to flow or really get all that exciting. There have been hundreds of movies made were a group gets trapped somewhere and has to find there way out. When you break it down that is all this movie is. Overall I just could not get over the slow pace, and lack of action to really enjoy this movie.
