This movie is visually stunning. So much can be done with good picture followed with excellent narration. The director Ridley Scott is also the one that filmed one of my favorite films Black Hawk Down. Anybody who is a Tom Cruise fan will love to see him at his beginning. At times the movie can be a little cheesy but you have to remember this was filmed on a shoestring budget and before cgi was the main force behind special effects. I thought the movie flowed pretty good and kept my attention well. I did feel that the movie could have been longer as it seemed to skip things that could have been better developed with more time. For all fantasy genre fans this is a must watch.

At first I didn't even want to watch this movie but as usual, eventually boredom got the better of me. I really enjoyed the plot and for those of us that like the fantasy genre it's pretty hard to even find a mediocre one due; sadly, to the lack of choices. yes the special effects are very cheesy but you forget about it after a while because the characters are good. I'm on the borderline of whether or not I'd buy this movie but it is for sure a good renter if you like fantasy movies.
