Trivia

'Kurt Wimmer' wrote the script with Milla Jovovich in mind as the lead character.

Milla Jovovich's character uses a more authentic variant of "Gun Kata", a unique blend of gunfighting and martial arts developed by director 'Kurt Wimmer' for his previous film Equilibrium.

The film was taken out of director 'Kurt Wimmer' 's hands and completely reedited by the studio after they saw the original version which they apparently did not like; they saw it as 'too emotional' for the action film they were expecting and reedited it so there would be more of an emphasis on the action and to cut it down to a PG-13 rating.

Screen Gems edited the film from its original length of 120 minutes to 88 minutes, against the wishes of director 'Kurt Wimmer' . He was quite angry with this, and many fans agree that this decision lowered the quality of the film significantly.

In the beginning, when Violet is escorted into the building, the corridor is painted with long triangles of alternating colors: the logo of the Umbrella Corporation.

When viewed from the front, the muzzle flash on Violet's weapons resembles the biohazard symbol present in so much of the film's design, as opposed to the standard starburst usually seen in movies.

Goofs

When Six is balancing on the railing on the top of the skyscraper, you can see the safety harness underneath his shirt.

When Six is hanging over the well, he knocks off his left shoe to check the depth of the well. After he is rescued, he and Violet walk through a door and he has his left shoe on.

At the end, on top of the skyscraper, the dome of glass is destroyed and fire is protruding from the building. Moments later, the glass is replaced and no fire is evident.

When Violet jumps off the building with the package, she cracks the ground, from the aerial view when she walks away from it, the ground is undamaged.

When Violet is on the motorcycle on the roof and is about to speed towards and jump through the helicopter, she spins the back tire and then we see her pop the clutch and take off. If she was holding in the clutch, the back tire would not be spinning.

After Violet leaves Six to be captured by soldiers, she walks away pushing people who all seem to walk the opposite way. Then she changes her mind, kneels and turns back but again she has to push people aside as everyone is now walking the other way around.
